Taksi, originally inspired by "Fraps" (fraps.com) is a lightweight program which can take screenshots and record video clips of games and other 3d applications. It's open source and free.
Keymapping is a useful feature which gives the opportunity of mapping certain keys to certain functions making switching windows unnecessary. Runtime re-mapping of the keys is supported via GUI: user can change keys without having to restart the game.
Custom video settings are supported (see manual.txt for more details about this). Basically, this allows a user to specify on a per-game basis the frame rate of the captured video, and the weight of each source frame.
Taksi is licensed as Freeware for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) operating system / platform from video capture software without restrictions. Taksi 0.7.7.9 is available to all software users as a free download (Freeware).
Compatibility with this software may vary, but will generally run fine under Microsoft Windows 8, 8.1, 7, Vista and XP on either a 32-bit or 64-bit setup. A separate x64 version may be available from Menasoft.
